PANAP – Learning Exchange Program

PANAP Organized, A Learning Exchange Program. From Small Farmers Movement, Tamil Nadu. Mr. Baskaran participated at Ketho Village, Penang, Malaysia. From September 29 – October 2. 30 participants from 8 different countries participated in this Training Program. Thanking SRED for participation in this Program.


On the first day of this Program, Visited Organic Farm which is 10-acre farm with 50 workers cultivating paddy and various vegetables. The farm has ducks and chickens. Introduction to the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and its quality control functions was done.


On the Second day, Learned Impressive vermicompost techniques, and plant boosters which is made from plant leaves and fruits. ECO pest control training also part of the program.

On the Third day, "16 Days of Global Action" activity were participants displayed and shared seeds from their countries. Post-harvest techniques to enrich soil with plant debris without burning the land, Paddy growth was explained.



On the last day of this program, we visited a Small Farm. A small, effective farm where a professor and his family demonstrated eco-friendly farming techniques. His farm has goats, chicken, and fish.



Key Learnings of this Program are Marketing and Packaging and effective ways to market and display agricultural products. Not Waste debris, techniques to use all parts of plants as compost to boost plant growth. Networking, sharing ideas, and making new friends from different countries was a good experience. Learned many things because of the wonderful translator.
